islena-NOWOn September 1st, Newport Yoga’s Islena and her family embarked on an overland journey to Costa Rica, which will be their home for the next year. Yoga will be a central focus for Islena, running eco-adventure / yoga retreats and preparing for next year’s summer yoga teacher training program in Nosara, Costa Rica (details to be released soon!).

Islena will be blogging her travels and releasing yoga video podcasts. Although we will miss her, we can follow along and continue to enjoy her yoga classes!

This past week the Metro newspaper published a nation-wide article on Newport Yoga owner Chris Dunphy. Chris speaks about his transition in life from financial advisor to yoga instructor, and from physical to spiritual approaches to his yoga practice.

Chris’s underlying message is “That’s the beauty of yoga — it’s got something for everybody.”
